On Tuesday July 28, 2009. Was a day that I had been expecting for about a year now. My grandpa Leo F. Despain passed away at the age of 93. He was always a wonderful grandpa. He was found doing things with his family; whether is was hiking, bird watching, camping, attend a event of a family member, helping others with service projects. He loved his family especially my grandma, his 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grand children.
He was always there when ever you needed him. He went to all the grandpaents day in school, attend all birthday parties, he went to my high school and college graduation. He was my witness in the Salt Lake temple as I married my sweethart, he saw me have 3 children.
He was a charitable man. He was always doing things to help others. He would be found removing snow or grass of his neighbors yards. He grew a garden and gave food away. If someone asked for help, he was the first to be there.
He was a hard working man, a loving man, a honest man, and loved to tell stories.
Over the last few years, his health and strength was delcining and in the last month or so is declined very repidly. It was hard to see him suffer in both pain and illness, but I am comforted that he did not have to suffer long. He lived a long life. He know has moved to the other side of the veil and most likely has the best reunion with his friends and family that have passed on before him. I will miss him and I am sadden by his death, but I am comforted in the atonement and the knowledge that I will see him again someday. His memory will live on and I hope that I can help it move on by paying it forward.
I love you grandpa.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your grandpa. I'm glad you have many wonderful memories of him. What a blessing to know and love such great people. I love being a member of the Church and I think one of my favorite aspects is knowing that families will be together forever. It defintely is the best news! You will be in my prayers. Take care of yourself.
That was a great post about your grandpa. It is always hard to lose a grandparent but it helps to know they are in a better place!
