Date Night

Friday night, my husband was off from work. He arranged with his mom to watch the children in the evening since we did not need her during the day, so we could go on a very much needed date. It has been about 5 months sonce our last date.
We went to Friday's for dinner, which was nice, and I was good just ordering a sirloin with brocclli and a salad. Then we havd about a hour and a half before the movie, so we went to Target to window shop and get idea's for Matthew and Ashleigh's birthday and to look for fall clothes. We ended up buying them backpacks (which they love (pictures to come soon.)). Then we headed to Jordan Commons to see Harry Potter. It was a great movie even if it was very condenced from the book.
It was so nice to be able to spend a evening alone without the children that did not require them going to bed. We were able to catch up as a couple and talk about things that are going on in both of our lives and what out goals as a couple and a family for the future are. It was nice to hold hands in the theater and go to a resturant to eat without the children causing a scene or going to McDonalds. Do not get me wrong, I do love spending time with the children and as a family and I will always choose to be together as a family for that is rare also, but spending time with my sweethart is very rare. We use to go on weekly dates before children, but since we had the twins 3 1/2 yeard ago, with Chris's work schedule, using our moms to babysit so we can work, and being in a ward with very few teen girls; dates do not really happen. I do envy couples that are able to continue to go on dates even after they have children. I am greatful, to my mother-in-law and to my hunsbands' schedule that made it possible to finally go on a date with him. I have missed "our time".
